Behavioural intelligence from play
Transforming a generation's greatest crisis into its greatest opportunity.
AOE LAB uses gameplay, content creation and AI-assisted learning to map strengths and connect young people to education, employment and wellbeing pathways.
See how it works ↓The disconnect
Talent is everywhere.
Opportunity isn't.
Qualifications and interviews show only a fraction of what someone can do. Meanwhile, a generation is building real cognitive, collaborative and creative ability in places institutions rarely look.
AOE LAB turns passive gameplay into an active map of potential. This is especially relevant for young people at risk of becoming NEET — not in education, employment or training — whose capabilities conventional pathways can fail to surface.
02 / Further education pilot
Where play builds
skills, confidence and belonging.
AOE LAB is working with further education institutions in Oxford as its first proof point — testing the model, building evidence and preparing the platform for wider adoption.
Access
Professional gaming technology and digital tools.
Learning
AI-assisted learning, digital wellbeing and confidence.
Creation
Podcasting, video, streaming and journalism.
Progression
Employability skills and portfolio evidence.
The intent reaches far beyond one city: a repeatable, licensable model that education institutions can adopt across the UK and internationally.
03 / The AOE LAB insight
From play
to proof.
Each session adds evidence to a living behavioural Signature — a clearer picture of how someone thinks, adapts and works with others.
-
01
Play
A familiar environment removes the pressure and performance of formal assessment.
-
02
Observe
The AI identifies attributed actions in gameplay and applies criteria weighted for each approved game.
-
03
Understand
Observations aggregate into five initial skill areas: problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, adaptability and critical thinking.
-
04
Progress
Evidence becomes a shared language between young people, educators and employers.
- 01Problem-solving0.82
- 02Creativity0.67
- 03Teamwork0.76
- 04Adaptability0.71
- 05Critical thinking0.86
Illustrative normalized model — not a validated score or diagnosis.
04 / The spectral Signature
Potential,
made visible.
A Signature is not a score or a label. It is an evolving record of weighted observations across different games and sessions — building objective evidence of developing skills and helping inform potential career pathways.
The MVP foundation document defines the initial Signature around problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, adaptability and critical thinking. These constructs can be mapped against recognised frameworks such as the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 ↗, while the model is validated through gameplay evidence.
Language for strengths they could feel, but could not prove.
A richer view of development across an entire cohort.
Evidence of capability beyond credentials and CVs.
05 / Built for the real world
A lab,
not an app.
AOE LAB is designed to be licensed to education institutions. It enhances practical skill learning required for future employment by revolutionising learning through gaming — while supporting the teaching of existing curricula, never replacing them.
- Licensed to institutions
- Supports existing curricula
- Practical future-work skills
- Evidence-led progression
In early 2026, 13.5% of UK 16–24-year-olds were not in education, employment or training. AOE LAB is designed to support prevention and re-engagement by turning an existing interest in gaming into practical learning, confidence and credible pathways.
